What a day! So much fun it was almost like we were flying at Forbes. The day started off topping out at 5500ft through to the turnpoint at Carabal. After that thing got real fun with base lifting to 9000ft. Fun.
For such a big day, almost 200km, it was a pretty easy day. All our team made it in to goal. Out of us Peter won the day with Dave, Barnsie and I all coming in with similar placings.
Over all it looks like Jonny won the day with Zippy (Zac Majors) in second and Attila third.
All up there would have been about 50 pilots in goal. Awesome for such a long task.
The pic is of Dave landing at goal.

Damn iPhone just killed the writeup I had done for today so here’s the excutive summary…
A tough day out. A real hard first crosswind leg followed by a pretty easy run for 50k past the turnpoint. It then got tough again as we hit the flooded area towards Naromine.
I had three goes at different start gates but never really managed to get a good jump out of the box.
A slow trip around the course but I made it in after flying the final 30k with Kari from Finland. We ended up landing together near rhe town.
As for rhe rest of the Dustys, Andrew ended up 21km short of goal. Dave and Pete landed near the turnpoint near Trundle.
Tomorrow looks like fun and might even be a bit easier.

At briefing, looks like a good day with heating happening early which should set us up for a perfect recovery from the wet conditions we have experencex over the past week.
Entries have been confirmed as 70 pilots this year. Nice.
A task has been set for the day. We”re off to Goolma. 166km
What the &$);? We still can’t work out how to score our sport. OZGAP2005 has been decided on via a vote by competeing pilots. That’s ok for this comp bit it rely should be something that is sorted out on a much broarder scale. Fingers crossed we can sort this out one day.

.
Update task has beenchanged due thunderstorms near Wellington. New task is to Narrowmine via a TP at Trundle. Launch opens in 8 mins.

Practice day out here at Forbes. Looking like the bad weather has passed and we’re in for a great comp as usual.
About to tow brb…

Well, as expected, a fun day out with many sortes flown and most landing back at the airfield. 2-3 m/s climbs were the call for the day topping out at the clouds at about 6000ft.
Tomorrow looks like a cracker.
